SO...ive always loved vball but l finally had the guts to try out in my sophomore year of high school (2004) and l made varsity but was a swinger and played for jv. l had improved so much and ended up getting seasons most improved. however right at the peak of improvement l moved schools and have not played since. l am currently a sophomore in college. l would like to play intramural volleyball in the states. (currently living in korea, so getting ready for a transfer.) however my confidence is LOW. do you think its too late to start vball again and possibly make an intramural team? TIPS. PLEASE. if anything tho, i've still got LOTS of love for the game and l am almost willing to do ANYTHING to ''get it back.''
fyi, damaged shoulder. i've got injections for it but l do not want it to hold me back anymore. l REALLY wna play again and i'd do whatever it takes.

No, it is not too late at all to start playing again. You're only a sophomore in college. You're still very young & can not only get ur skills back but can improve much upon it.
If u were good enough to make the vasity in high school, u may be too good to play intramural volleyball. You never forget the skills that u learned at young age just like u never forget how to ride a bike.
Believe me, just start playing some intamural volleyball someplace & u will be so bored u will want to play at competition level.
There r lots of places to play volleyball in the states. l play in north-eatern New Jersey & there r many open volleyball places & leagues. Also, there r a lot of Koreans playing volleyball here.
For the tip, just concentrate on mastering the basic skills. Focus on using the correct posture & forms, especially the armswing since u have an injured shoulder.

Most intramural programs are open to anyone that wants to play. When l was in college, there were often 60+ intramural teams. Anything from very serious to picnic style.
If you are talking about the serious intramural team that competes at the NIRSA championships, you may need to work out before trying for that. You have time before the fall to get in shape and tryout for that level team.

It is never too late to play volleyball especially since you've played it at one point earlier in your life. Although you might have accumulated some injuries through the years, there are many other positions on the court that allow you to enjoy the competitiveness of volleyball. Not only are intramural volleyball teams open for anyone, possibly finding a recreation gym that has open gym volleyball will help you work your way back into volleyball shape.
