So this December l rolled my ankle really bad. Doctor said l had to be off for a month. Then after and MRl the same doctor said l needed surgery and yadayada. Well that was a pediatrist, so we went to an orthopedic surgeron and asked his opinion. He did not see the MRl (he saw the report) and felt my ankle and then said that l was ok l should try it out and come back in 6 weeks. He then gave me a very expensive ankle brace. So l have been playing for about 2 weeks and my ankle occanisanly gets swollen. However, it does not really hurt. l do not know what to do. If l got the surgery l would be out for a long long time. l wanna play D3 volleyball someday. WHAT DO l DO? I am so confused.

It really is up to u..if the pain is that unbearable just have the surgery and then work hard to come back and play vball
otherwise if the doctor really says u will be ok and u feel ok then do it!
ice it and take ibuprofin..always wear that ankle brace.ur ankle is clearly now much weaker and u almost now need to baby it

and l understand how u feel.like u r not able to play

wear a good ankle bracer that can keep it straight
dont give it too much pressure when u cant play
but keep playing if u cant either without volleyball

Sometimes l had a pain back of my knee but l keep playing
cause l cant without playing its my life.

em well as l said just play but with no pressure but flabbily
(something else do some exercises with weights & medicine ball yeah its not recomended, just to keep u strong)

Thats pretty much what happened to me.
l tore the ligaments in my ankle really bad, and l was out for 6 weeks.
l went back and played right after and l tore the ligaments again, in the same place. So do not go back to early.

its totally up to you

l sprained my ankle and l was out for about 2 months and l went back to play. Although sports are my favorite thing to do l had a little iffy question on if l should go back but l did and It was the one of the greatest things l had ever done.

if it does not hurt, then keep playing the season. If when you go back to the doctor and you need surgery, then you need surgery. There are not any real decisions here.
