l wanna try out for my school. like l know a bunch of terms that l learned from a website. &+ l know that if the other team misses the ball my team gets the point and if my team misses the ball the other team gets a point. can someone fill me in!?? l really wanna get into a school sport and my life depends on you answerer ppl
(*ok l might be exaggerating just a lil when l say my life depends on u*)

ok, basics.
if u r trying out for a high school team, then u must know or somewhat know how to do these:
-spiking
-digging
-setting
-the positions
-control of the ball
-blocking
-the purpose of a libero

*if u can, u should take the opportunity in trying out for club volleyball. club volleyball is more competitive, but u learn a lot & u could have a higher chance of making it. (most players in my school have played club)

Basics:
Gotta get the ball over on 3
So pass, set, spike

Serve: Only have 1 chance to get it over

Setter always gets the second ball.

The person on the front left is a 4
Middle is a 2
Front right is a 5

when you pass hit with your arms not with your hand, try to get it in the middle, and avoid swinging.

overhead setting: use your fingers

There are 6 players on the court- left front, middle front, right front, left back, middle back, right back.
The setter always gets the second hit.
Get the ball over in 3 hits- bump, set, spike
When you serve, stay behind the end line.
There are 25 points in a match.
Call the ball!- say, mine or got it
